Sex toys can be fun during lovemaking.  When the lovemaking is over though, it is important to take care of your sex toys.  This is because you want to use them again.  They need to be sanitary.  If you are practicing safe sex, then you do not want bodily fluids left on these toys.  This is even more important for those who have more than one partner.

There are many diseases that are passed through sexual intercourse.  These can also be passed by using adult toys if more than one person is using the toy immediately after the other.  Once the lovemaking is done for the night, the toys should be washed in hot water using an antibacterial soap.  If the toys have motors, they should not be submerged.  The areas that were in contact with bodily fluids should be the only parts that are cleaned thoroughly.

When using rubber dildos, a condom should be used on them during intercourse.  This is because rubber is very porous and can trap bacteria.  This is not going to kill anyone, but a yeast infection or other minor infections can be caused if they are not kept clean.  Using a condom is the best way to prevent these minor, but painful infections.  They should still be washed with soap and water after use especially if a lubricated condom is used.

A silicone dildo can be boiled for two minutes to clean thoroughly.  If you take care of your sex toys you are going to prevent any bacterial transfers. This is the most important issue.  Sex toys can be fun, but if you do not take care of your sex toys, they can be a source of infection.  You should practice the same safe sex techniques that you employ with your partner when you are using sex toys.
