Choosing the Right Sex Toy Lubricant
One of the most important decisions you can ever make when it comes to sex toys is choosing the right sex toy lubricant. A great lube can make the entire experience feel better but the wrong lube can ruin the toy and/or turn the experience into a disaster.
When choosing the right lubricant, you need to know which types of toys you will be using it for. This is important because different toys may require different types of lubricant. The materials the toys are made out of can have an impact on your decision.
For example, you do not want to use a silicone based lube on silicone sex toys. This is because the lube will blend with the toy and can start to degrade the material that it is made out of. It can also be messy and will ruin your toy very quickly.
Silicone based lubes are great for playing in the water and with water toys. A water based lubricant will just disintegrate in water and will do you no good in water toy play. Petroleum based lubes should only be used with non latex toys, for male masturbation and with anal play. The petroleum can irritate the vagina so it is not suggested for use in these female areas.
Once you know you have the right lube, you just squirt or pour a small amount onto your fingers (about the size of a dime) and then spread it around on your toy to get it all ready. Be sure to lube up all parts of the toy that will come in contact with your (or your partner’s) body.
Apply the sex toy lubricant so that it is wet but not dripping (this will be too messy). When you feel it’s good and lubed up, you’re ready to go. If at any time during play, your toy dries out, you just need to add more lube and keep going.
