Boys and girls pleasure themselves by handling their genitals until they reach a point when they feel
intense pleasure. This process is called masturbation and this is said to be a healthy thing, but some
people think it should not be done. People like Christine O’Donnell think that masturbation is a sin. So
this again roots itself to what religious doctrines say. We cannot speak against the sacred doctrines
because that would only put our stance in more serious peril.
The real thing is that most boys do it and some girls do it too. Should they be warned that they are going
to be sent to hell because they take a lot of pleasure in fondling themselves? Perhaps, sanctimonious
folks can lay low on scaring everyone about all these matters that may only be discussed within the
corners of the holy grounds. There is enough realism in the world to entertain such hostile beliefs. If we
all would think all sins will be punished, then think that everyone shall be.
When we say that a lot of people masturbates, that does not mean to encourage masturbation, but
neither should anyone cast gloom upon those who please themselves behind closed doors. No one is
clean enough to do that. Masturbation is a way to explore one’s sexuality and is also a way to relieve
sexual tension. As long as you don’t do harm to others, then you should be fine.
Christine O’Donnell, the new star of the religious right and not a woman to beat about the bush, claims masturbation is a sin. In a non sequitur from the 90s, O’Donnell declared: “The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can’t masturbate without lust.”
